Doctor was nice. Billing practices, suspect. I went for an annual physical covered by my insurance. I was then billed a new patient exam (insurance covered) AND an established patient exam (not covered) for the same appointment. I inquired about this bill to find that since I asked some questions and pointed out some aches and pains, my exam had become "diagnostic" as were all my labs. Dr Sam is very caring and attentive to my health needs. She takes the time to really listen to me. So many doctors now spend the office visit looking at and charting on the computer. She also uses the computer but looks straight at me when I am speaking. I trust her expertise and friendly demeanor.
I made an appointment 2 months ago with Dr Sam after being recommended to her by my gynecologist. Today they called and canceled my appointment for tomorrow because I’m not 50 years old. This should have been addressed when I made my appointment. After asking the nurse if she would make an exception since I’m 48 years old Dr Sam refused. I made appointmens for my daughters to see Dr. Sam and explicitly said that it was for their yearly physical. My daughters went in for there 1st non-pediatrician appointment for a yearly physical covered by our insu. I got a bill later for additional testing saying that the doctor found medical isses. Neither daughter went in for that. They are in good health. Since they only went in for a physical, why did the doctor charge them for other tests?.
