I love my house because of what it represents for me. However, I have built a house with David Weekley and I have built with Colina and I will never build with Colina again (but would definitely build with David Weekley again). Everything looks great at first glance, but once you are living in it you realize they have cut a lot of corner on quality. Our home building experience with Colina was very disappointing- most notably, poor ethics and dishonest. It’s not surprising to see Colina’s greed and lack of morale making news headlines
If they lured you into building a "custom home" , you best be prepared to be disappointed in the final results. Hire a 3rd party inspector for quality assurance. During the design phases, make sure to take notes and get a copy of the notes they took. Ask to see any design calculations for foundation, AC, etc 5 years, later our house still has unpainted exterior surfaces visible from the road and the AC is undersized as mentioned in previous reviews. Bad construction.. and the one year guarantee they promise you is totally scam
I am an agent who brought a buyer to see a Colina home. Sales agent in the model was unprofessional and rude throughout my clients' attempt at a buying experience. Borderline unethical with his changes to the contract, and attempted to get my clients to sign documents in my absence. Tried to insult me personally when we decided not to move forward and requested a return of earnest money. Will be contacting management.
