I went to the landfill today looking for that surreal experience that "Friar" had but all I got was just another expensive trip to the dump. All I had to get rid of was an old mattress 15 bucks plus another 5 bucks for the ever fashionable safety vest. Just a tip for you future visitors, bring your own if ya got one. If you rarely visit this SLO landmark,give your vest to someone else on the way in,save a fellow dumper a few bucks.
The Friar is so full of shit, its a dump. Take your trash and leave it there. Period.
This Landfill's no "Dump"! – While unloading a truckload of debris recently, I reflected on the nearly 40 years I've been coming to Cold Canyon. The reason for my visits has nearly always been the same, but the site has certainly changed -- and for the better! I was particularly taken aback by the newly-opened road to the "top of the hill," which gives dumpers a spectacular panorama of the Edna Valley and Corbett Canyon vineyards, with none of the boisterous seagull commotion of the past.
