I waited until i was down to the wire for my BLS renewal. The online portion was great, it allowed me to go back and review different topics as I needed. It asked you question throughout to ensure your knowledge. I work night shift and was able to get in for my hands on portion around my schedule which was really nice. The hands on portion was 1 on 1 which allowed me to feel comfortable in asking questions and reviewing things. I was in and out quickly and left confident in my abilities.
