Had a wonderful gluten-free pizza
We ordered Coaches Pizza to go for the team. We arrived late in Des Moines and wanted a quick bite at the hotel. One of our parents had some trouble finding the restaurant, so arrived after they closed. This was not Coaches fault. They had our pizza ready when she got there and pickup was successful. The quality of the pizza was disappointing. The crust is like eating cardboard and the flavor over all was underwhelming. The pizza itself is awesome, one of my favorite joints. They continue to shrink the size down though. We bought a large ($27 after tax) and it was 13”. Seems pretty crazy to charge $27 for a pizza of that size. Looks like a medium. 6pm on a Saturday night and they only had a few tables. Lack of customers could be connected to the perceived value?
I wanted to give this place a 5/5 but when I walked in to do my pickup order, it took them a few minutes to even acknowledge I was there. A simple, "I'll be right with you or one moment please" would have sufficed. There was no one else in the restaurant. I could see that they had a few orders they were working on and the food we ordered was delicious. Just needs a little work on their customer service.
