Great staff, clean rooms, strong air conditioners This is a great place to stay in Grass Valley. Despite the hotel's shoddy looking sign, it is a very nice place. The front desk is very helpful and friendly, and the rooms have a very homey feel. I was in Grass Valley in the heat of summer, and my room's air conditioning really saved me from suffering. I would recommend these spacious, clean rooms to anyone.
Tacky out of date motel This is definitely a "no star" motel. Although clean and neat, our room was dark, tacky and seriously in need of a face-lift. A group of rooms had been blocked off for a wedding we were attending. When I called to make the reservation, I was quoted a rate of $50; but when we checked in that had mysteriously increased to $69. Manager was zero help.
didn't know what we were getting into while this motel may seem like a great value for your money, you should know that it is half vacation rooms and half SRO. for example, when we first showed up, a man stood outside his room talking incoherently to himself (literally babbling), which we found odd. the next day, we saw the police questioning him at the liquor store down the street when we left for the day. that night he was dancing and singing (poorly) outside his room until someone from the front desk asked him to calm dow... read more
