had a bunch of loose and squeaky boards in the upstairs hallway, plus one section near the bathroom door that felt soft. another company told me id need to replace the whole hallway. ForestEdge came out, checked it properly, and said most of it could be fixed by re-securing the boards and replacing just three or four near the bathroom where there had been some water damage years ago. saved a lot of money going with them. when looking around Evanston they stood out
Brand new solid oak install in the main living areas and it looks fantastic. The grain is consistent, the boards feel solid, and there are no squeaks anywhere. I had been comparing a few quotes around Evanston and theirs landed in the middle but the way they answered my questions made me feel a lot more confident than the cheaper option. Got a quote pretty quick after reaching out and it was reasonable compared to other places. crew showed up on time the day of and just got to work. Not a lot of back and forth which I appreciated, they knew what they were doing. Floors came out great and the finished looks really even . Solid experience start to finish.
ForestEdge put in new hardwood across our whole main level - hallway, living room, into the kitchen. One thing I appreciated was how they laid the planks so the grain direction stays consistent as you walk from room to room. I probably wouldn't have thought to ask about that but it makes a big visual difference. The doorway transitions sit flat and clean, nothing catching your feet.
