There is something not quite right about the Ortho department. In December my husband was injured some how and had to visit an ER in Co. They were more concerned about his heart because of the pain.This occurred on Dec26th. We called the ortho Dept in South Hill because we were returning on the 27th of Dec. They scheduled him for an Appt Dec 29th. My husband had an Echocardiogram at the hospital that morning. As he was in pain he went on to the hospital. I WENT TO THIS PRACTICE AND BECAME VERY ASTONISHED AT THE LACK OF TREATMENT. I HAVE PLANTAR FASCIITIS WITH HEEL SPURS WHICH CAUSE ME GREAT PAIN. THE DR THERE GAVE ME SPLINTS FOR MY FEET. NOW I WAKE UPIN GREAT PAIN DURING THE NIGHT. WHEN I ASKED FOR SOMETHING TO RELIEVE THE PAIN, IN HIS EXACT WORDS, "OH NO NOT IN THIS PRACTICE." HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE SOME KIND OF DRUG ADDICT! I asked for Gabapintin dahh not a narcotic!
I have been treated there by several of the staff. All were knowledgeable, and showed caring. I have been treated for a broken foot, two torn meniscus. One required more advanced treatment than CMH could not offer, and they made arrangements to get me seen at VCU Sports medicine. It was nice to see the Doctor cared enough to see I need further care at VCU Richmond.
Went to this place for arthritis in my hands & corporal tunnel syndrome in both hands also. Spent thousands on office visits, physical therapy, x rays & MRI. No results, don't care attitude. Now going to Dr. Winters in Oxford, NC. Sure wish there was a way to get my hard earned money back...live & learn.
