I want to share an experience I had at this facility because it had a serious impact on my mental health and sense of safety. I was subjected to a fully invasive strip search after staff insisted—without evidence—that I was concealing substances. Despite my repeated statements that I did not have anything on me, I was required to completely undress, stand exposed, raise my arms, and turn in place while being visually inspected by two staff members. Honestly a great facility and staff and doctors but unfortunately a single “doctor” there that I was assigned to ruined the whole experience. “Dr.” Maple called every sober home in manhattan and Brooklyn and told them not to accept me due to my character, and told every psychiatrist CMC has contact with the same.
