Called clutha health first to see if my 6 month old could get in for a check up, they transferred me to an online video call with a nurse who then checked my baby out via video call. After seeing how seriously sick he was she called Clutha health to explain that my baby was in urgent need of medical care and they turned him away and said he had to travel to Dunedin. Quite pathetic if you ask me .
Pathetic service. Never got a phone call back to make appt, well after 9am no phone calls follow up, instead told will be liable for casual fee and still same instructions will call back... most are right clutha vets provide better service. Overall nz health services are below average 1st world title with 3rd world service. Waiting waiting waiting pt is dead.
Impatient ward is a joke. Nurses yelling at paitents, refusing to give you pain relief, leaving bandages way longer than they should be, no respect for the sick people in there. Have to admit there was two staff/ nurses who are amazing but shame the rest of the staff aren’t like them!
I would recommend these guys for any thing but medical care.
A shame. I arrived at 17:50 (closing time 18:00) on saturday 29/3/2026 and they refuse to assist me : “we are sorry but we close at 18:00 and we will not have time to take care of you. If you go to Dunedin… “ I tried to insist because I have been suffering a backache for two days and the pain was getting worse (We are visiting NZ in Campervan) but they did refuse to assist. Shame on them.
