If you wanna come out feeling worse then when you walked in by all means go for it. The experience wasn't helpful if anything it was damaging having someone looking at you across a huge desk whilst already feeling vulnerable. And belittling what you have experienced as she has experienced worse.
Laura is a great listener and has really helped me begin the journey of reshaping my thinking. Very validating, provides important perspectives and examples to help your understanding. Also she has this skill of saying something kind or funny to re-centre you after dark or heavy topics - it just really works for me and makes me laugh or smile. Was given a mental health plan, sought out this entity as they are close to home. They first wanted all my details and a copy of my Drs report, before they would see me. They were going to decide if they could help me. They wanted to still charge $200 when my expectation was it would be free. I couldn't afford that, and yet they have my details for no purpose no help. Their fees seem higher on purpose to discourage the average Joe from attending their practice.
Went in seeking help with depression, had a couple sessions didnt feel like I was getting anywhere so I stopped going. I expressed my concern with reception they didnt give 2 shits about it. Obviously not interested in helping people who are struggling.
