The medical staff are professional and courteous. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk has been the opposite. Their interactions have often felt condescending and short. I’ve been coming to this clinic for over a year and have never felt welcomed or respected by the front desk staff.
Sophie and Dr. Stashower are a dream team. I go regularly for acne scar treatments and it has significantly improved the tone and texture of my skin. Sophie always makes me feel at ease and is so thoughtful in taking care of you!
I am writing about my conversation I had with the Front Office staff and the Office Manager of Clinical Skin Center, located at 3700 Joseph Siewick Drive in Fairfax, VA. I booked an appointment and the front desk made an error by entering my insurance as a PPO instead of an HMO. No one asked for my insurance card ahead of time to verify coverage. I drove over an hour total and my daughter had to miss school, only to be told at check-in that I needed a referral from my insurance not the pcp. While still in the office, I called my insurance and was told they do not issue referrals—those must come from the PCP. I have been a patient of Emily Thai and the Clinical Skin Center for a number of years and Emily has been amazing! Emily was able to diagnose my latest skin issue, via biopsy, and come up with a treatment plan. Also, she gave me a skin regiment I can use on a daily basis to help manage the symptoms while the medicine is working. I was also having trouble with the insurance company and my specialty pharmacy with getting the medicine sent to me.
