I have been a customer of Clean Water Service of Maine since 2009. Michael and Diane Chretien are always personable, prompt, and efficient. After I first called, we had an assessment and were offered the best solution, and our system has been working perfectly for 9 years now. As a do-it-myselfer, it is not typical for me to hire anyone to do something like this but in this case it was the correct thing to do, and frankly it was not much more expensive than had I done it myself (and I have no experience!). Bought a house with a Calcite softening system. Previous owner left receipts from last calcite purchases from this place. We go here for Calcite. Lady says they don't sell unless you are previous customer. Also expresses doubt that we know what we need and says we may not even need water softening. A week later we show up again with receipts and recent pH testing results. She doesn't even want to look at anything. Now she says they don't sell to the public anymore. Never been so frustrated and confused at a business before.
