We have had great experiences here. It is always clean and the camp hosts are out and about. The bathrooms and showers are always well kept. There are lots of things to do around the camp ground. Loys of trails to hike and explore. Also a beach area where you can hang out or swim in the lake.
Claytor Lake State Park is one of my favorite spots for a relaxing outdoor escape in Virginia. The lake itself is absolutely beautiful—perfect for boating, kayaking, and especially fishing. I spent a quiet morning casting from the shore and saw several others out on boats enjoying the calm water. The beach area is great too, with a designated swimming zone that’s ideal for families.
