Worst electric company we have ever had. We moved into our current house 9 years ago. Our electric bill when we first moved in was always under $200 with the average being $160. Last year our bill increased and our average bill was $360, this year it increased to over $420.00 and to top it off we got a letter last month letting us know of price increases. Not happy with Clay. Not at all. I’ve lived in this county my entire life. My parents had Clay, now I have it. It seems like it’s getting more money hungry. Everything is also automated and you can’t speak to a normal human being. Electric companies kind of seem like one of those companies that need to have weekend people available, especially in Florida. On July 31st, I got home from work to find my electricity off. Walked into Clay electric this morning (March 25, 2025) and there are 2 women sitting at the front counter. There was a Caucasian lady who was in the middle of assisting another customer and an African-American lady who was not doing anything. The African-American lady looks up at me and quickly looks down and isn’t doing anything. After several minutes, the Caucasian lady finishes up with the customer she is working on and calls me over to assist me.
