Classic Cakes did an amazing job with the cake they made for my sons first birthday. I showed Vickie a photo of a baby Mickey cake that I really liked and she said she could make it. I have to admit that I was very worried about the cake mainly because I wanted my sons first birthday to be perfect. A week went by and I finally got to pick up the cake and it was beyond PERFECT...and it tasted just as good as it looked! I'm very pleased with the cake they made and I will be recommending them to everyone!
They claim their cakes are made fresh and the only thing fresh about them it's the buttercream. Their cakes are made from pill bury box mix and not homemade from scratch, they make them days ahead and I seem cupcakes on their displays with mold on them. The owner it's rude to her employees I heard her being nasty and rude to them on the back while I was awaiting for a cake one time. I'm sorry to hear about the other reviews, fortunately my experience was quite different. I recently ordered a cake for a baby shower and the decorating was done to perfection and the cake was so delicious! It was a huge hit at the shower. I have never tasted a better buttercream icing! I would recommend Classic Cakes to my friends and family not only for their cakes but also for their tomato pie.
My wife and I stopped for a treat to bribe the kids with before heading to the beach on a long weekend! Glad we did because the cupcakes were delicious! Best part was they were so big I got to have the leftovers!! Definitely will stop in again!
Imharley's review from March 2013 was pretty much EXACTLY my experience. I called 3 weeks prior for a specialty cake for my Dad's 60th birthday party. We corresponded back and forth to make sure Vicki, one of the owners could do the cake or one of her part-time employees who had done a similar cake before. I had pre-ordered a cake .. arrived 15 minutes early to pick up and cake wasn't started... the lady said they forgot.. but said they could do up another but it wouldn't be the theme I wanted ... she said I was going to call you .. but it gets crazy sometimes in here ... really ?? don't know how crazy it is with no one in there ... I think they thought I'd pay same price because they didn't have it ready ... birthday with no cake ... not cool
