I received a quote from John and I thanked him for the time and effort he put into it but I had to turn it down because it was out of our budget. He replied by sending me an email where he pretty much called me an idiot. I may not be a smart engineer but that’s not how you get business.
They required committing to a binding contract upfront including $1000 retainer fee and “additional fees TBD” before even looking into the project. Sounded like they required me to give them my bank account information they can charge upon their discretion. Walked away
