This is a bad hotel. Choice should pull it from their brand. Someone died in the pool and it has apparently been closed since then. The laundry room is broken. Heaters in rooms, locks for doors broken. Severely outdated and has not been renovated. It's like a shell of a hotel expo center. The outdoor pool area is disgusting. Like level 11 gross. Although the location is amazing for our visits, the condition of the hotel and the rooms are disappointing and honestly unacceptable. As a professional residential and commercial housekeeper and as a paying tenant for a room here at Clarion (Water St, Elmira NY), I should not have to clean and sanitize a room I paid a couple hundred dollars for. My Dad and I stayed in two different rooms. Both rooms were dirty, the carpets were filthy, there was pubic hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor. We asked twice if we could get someone to come in and vacuum they said they would but no one came. I even offered to vacuum myself and she said she would send someone- still no one came. The bathroom vent was disgusting, the hallways on second floor looked like something from a crack hotel. The coffee maker, and blow dryer didn’t work in my room.
