Little respect for paying customers – A lunatic sitting next to me went into a rage over our seats touching, called me the c-word, threw her drink at our table and threatened to "throw me down". When I calmly asked the bartender to please have this person removed for her violent actions and threats, I was told that she was "a friend" and nothing was done about it. Worst 'service' ever. – I can't believe I actually signed up to do this, as I never review online. Normally, good places I go back to, bad places I avoid. However, the lady behind the bar at this place (see review from other user) was so unprofessional and frankly insulting to our group of 10 (swearing, screaming and giving 'the finger') that I have to let people know that this is not somewhere I will ever visit again, nor any of my friends or theirs. I could go on, but just AVOID.
Avoid – I went here with 8 friends 2 weeks ago, one staff member was so unjustifiably and shockingly rude to a friend of mine that we all walked out (we are normal, reasonable people). I will never go back.
Piece of Paris in NYC – I'm part of a weekly Wednesday drinking group of 30 or so regulars who love to drink, geek out, talk and eat after work. We check out a different bar each week. We've been kicking around the city for 12 years. In that time we've visited several hundred bars (with repeats of faves). I'm a Francophile. Clandestino is my favorite neighborhood bar. – Friendly bartenders, comfortable space, quaintly decorated, great drink selection, perfect appetizer list. I love this bar.
A fly by night... – This place popped up on Canal not too long ago. It almost feels like they're holding the space for something more grand planned for down the road. Everything, from the decor to liquor selection seems like it's very temporary. The bartenders seem very inexperienced, so order simple drinks. I am curious what is planned for this space, but for now it's just a spot to get a quick drink on your way somewhere else.
A cozy neighborhood nook nestled in Chinatown. – In Short This simple bar sprouted up to serve below-Delancey downtowners with a low-key spot to convene in the evenings. There are no other pretenses--it's just a small, shabby-chic space with low tin ceilings and rough-hewn plywood walls, softened by glowing orb lights and chill-out tunes.
