Went for a smog check at this place because the other place where I usually get my smog done was closed early in the morning. He failed my car when it passes at other places no problem. He said he noticed the throttle body on my car was supposedly missing a cap and that it had been adjusted or tampered with. He was whispering with another supposed to be mechanic who was sitting in his truck next to his smog shop and saying it’s been tampered with. I’ve never touched the throttle body. recently just moved to the fremont area and had to get a smog for my car, but they failed me for a visual inspection. i checked my i/m readiness beforehand so i know i’m not failing for that. took my car somewhere else to get smogged and it passed the same day. a shady experience. edit: my car is normal and their reply is meaningless. i’ve had this car smogged many times before as is with no issues
