The receptionist is extremely rude. She has no empathy or is willing to help guests with anything. She was harassing me over my scooter, which I have had in other hotels with no problems. She called me a list because according to her all Melbourne hotels block you from having scooters. She refused to help call my phone to help find it or lend a phone to do so myself. Our son is scheduled for Brain Surgery number 13 tomorrow the 27th of May at the Alfred Hospital. We are required to arrive at 7am which is too much for our son to do.I was calling around to find accommodation for my son Cody, myself and his fully certified GHAD service dog. When I called City Park Hotel they offered me a room for $150 with 2 beds. Once I mentioned Cody's seizure alert service dog we were denied accommodation and were told to call somewhere else. Booked for a short stay in Melbourne as we live a bit further out from town. Fairly standard budget option - room had the basics you'd expect - with some signs of age, but nothing horrible. We found that the bed was also incredibly comfy. Room was pretty quiet despite facing the road. Staff we spoke with were nice. Free parking included was great. Well as other review said, this hotel is already old. Cons : The elevator is quite scary, when reaching the destination floor, it will giving you a bump before open the door, and then the window is not soundproof, so you can hear the wind hitting the window. The heater on ac was blowing but it stop until several minutes, the front desk is only available from 9am until 7pm ish, the fridge and hot water kettle is never been cleaned or replace with new one.
