Went there for lunch yesterday. Great for dinner. AVOID before 6. Bartender doubles as server. Sat at bar and talked to friend whole time. How is a fab dinner spot be such a DISASTER at lunch?

The Sole was amazing. So were the scallops. Good portions, nice atmosphere. The ambiance in this restaurant is wonderful. No loud music, nice acoustics and great service. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Grosse Pointe. Wonderful food, great service and an unpretentious, beautiful interior.

Better off grabbing a Frozen Dinner from Krogers – $50+ carry out that ended up in the garbage it was so bad. The chicken tasted like the floor mat in the kitchen. The shrimp was so tough that we had to toss it out. The food is just plain bad and small portions to boot. We went when it first opened and it was bad so we thought we would give it another try a few years later and it is worse. Grosse Pointe needs a GOOD restaurant but NOT another Italian one. The Hill is about the only decent place and that is hitt or miss as we... read more

Beautiful Ambiance, Kind/Efficient Service, Delicious Food and SMOKE FREE – City Kitchen is a long overdue restaurant in the Grosse Pointe area and agreeing with the previous review; a nice addition to the Village. It's comfortably upscale with beautiful decor. I especially like the full sized bar that's made out of zinc...a very nice/unique touch. The prices can be a bit high but the food and service backup the prices (the halibut had great flavor along with a nice presentation). Even though Michigan is behind such states a... read more

Nice addition to the village. – I highly recommend this restuarant, the soft shell crab is awesome. The service is rather slow, but you are there to enjoy yourself - why be rushed, right? The prices are not on the cheap end, nor are they on the very expensive list. The portion size is on the small side, but then again - we Americans eat too much as it is, can't blame them for watching our waistlines. Hope you found this review helpful, enjoy your dining experience....it's definitelt a place to be seen in GP!
