So glad I decided to dine at city bbq for dinner with my family tonight. The food was seasoned just right, the service was great and they cater to us non pork and beef eaters. And the bonus is it didnt break tue the bank. This chain has gone down since the pandemic. The brisket and horseradish sauce was my favorite. Meat is not as good and they changed the sauce to 'Bama sauce. Corn pudding was dry and crumbly.
The pulled chicken contained bones and didn’t seem properly pulled. The chicken was served cold and parts appeared undercooked with visible blood, which made it impossible for me to eat. Overall, the food lacked flavor and the experience was very disappointing. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this location
This was my second time trying City Barbeque. The first time, at a different location, we absolutely loved the food and service. Unfortunately, this location on Falls of Neuse was a completely different experience. The pulled chicken did not taste fresh at all — it seemed more like leftovers than freshly prepared chicken. We love City BBQ and used them to cater our party yesterday. They did a wonderful job! We ordered the meats with sides and it was perfect. Brisket, pulled pork, and turkey were delicious, as were the baked beans and collard greens. Easy for me and everyone loved it!
