Have had a great experience with this lab on developing, scanning and getting work prints for my latest project.
Trust the 1 star reviews. I unfortunately didn't have a great experience with Cinelab and only write this negative review because film is precious and the process is expensive - I don't like writing bad reviews! I got back terrible quality super 8 scans from Cinelab, there was so much digital scanner noise. I had to flag this issue to the staff (they never replied to my emails but was able to get ahold of them by phone). I asked if there was any way to rescan with better quality. After only using them for 2025, I will NEVER be using Cinelab again. I've been waiting since November for my Ektochrome to be digitized. Since December I've heard 'next week. End of Next week. Two more weeks....' We are almost in February. I called again today because it was supposed to be delivered by today, and now they said possibly Monday or Tuesday. It started off a bit rocky, but I have to say they really made up for it! Their communication was clear, and they issued a refund for my non-advanced Super 8. Everything was explained thoroughly, and they truly went the extra mile to make up for the miscommunication. Thanks so much for helping me work through that frustration.
I have to agree with the one star reviews I see on here. First the owner has quite a condescending tone when talking to you. It almost seems as if he’s doing you a favor. The film is never ready when they give you the expected date. Never. The most recent “issue” was two rolls of 16mm film that was supposed to be completed for a workshop I was attending out of the country.
