Newly insured with Cigna and seriously wishing I had never switched to them from Caresource. I called them to see if a specific immediate care was in network for my daughter. I was told several times it was. Took my daughter there. Now my bill says they're out of network, I owe the full amount billed, and Cigna conveniently has NO RECORD of me ever calling to verify that beforehand! If I could go less than "1", I would ... My wife picked out our coverage bc of her primary care physician. We only made one claim while covered and it was a primary care visit.... We got the full bill and now Cigna is claiming they never covered her doctor. Seriously, why pay for monthly premiums just to get shafted by the only doctor visit we used. What a scam.
The nightmare began when my employer switched us from Aetna to Cigna on 01 Jan 2025. This could be a 100 page novel but I'll be brief. I had no idea what a nightmare Cigna would be. That Spring was the first announcement from our medical provider that Cigna wouldn't reach an agreement with them, leaving us an hour plus from any in-network medical care including hospital, doctors, urgent care, lab work, and imaging instead of just 3 miles. My doctor ordered a scan and CIGNA refuses to pay for it. They claim that I don’t really need it. A doctor filed three different appeals to try and get them to cover it and they still wouldn’t. I had to end up paying for it myself because the high priced insurance I have doesn’t cover what I need
