Dr. Cibis was three of our children's first eye doctor. Giving them all their first script between 2-3. (Bad eyes genetics) He was always, kind and good with the kids. He was a fabulous doctor. He will be missed.
I highly recommend finding a nicer children’s eye doctor. I took my 3 year old son for one appointment and wasn’t impressed with his demeanor and how he handled children but was fine otherwise. My sons dad took him in for his next appointment, and this transaction is what led me to decide we will never be returning and hope to warn other parents when taking their young children in to see this doctor. Dr Cibis started seeing my son after previous doctors failed to take care of what needed taken care of. Children's Mercy put him in glasses which were unnecessary sadly. He had unneeded glasses for 4 yrs. Dr Cibis took the glasses away and we saw him back a month later to see if he really needed surgery as Children's mercy said he needed it 4 yrs prior. Surgery was not needed at that time. Almost 2.5 yrs later they said he needed surgery for intermittent exotropia. 6 wks later he was having surgery which fixed the problem! H... read more
I saw Dr. Cibis about 20yrs ago. I took my daughter to see him when she was a yr old for a lazy eye ( tried drops, glasses, & patch before surgery) and vision issues, he did her surgery to correct it went amazing & restored her vision in her lazy eye at 19months. ( she is now 8yrs old & hasnt needed another surgery. ) took my son at 1 yr and got glasses to help with his lazy eye & vision. ( now almost 7yrs old) and glasses corrected it.
