It’s great to see CIBC offering this service and it’s very convenient for travelling Canadians; however, the rates offered are exceptionally poor and frankly predatory. I recognize there’s a margin of typically 2% with a premium for airports but this ATM takes more than 9%. CAD to JPY exchange currently sits at around 1 cad to 110 jpy, but this ATM gave 1 to cad to 100 jpy which is an insane exchange rate, even for an airport.
