Honestly I have absolutely no idea at this point how this company continues to exist. In Canada the only thing that can't fail are big banks. I blame myself for continuing to do business with them. Avoid using banks at all at this point.
I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with a bank. CIBC offered me a loan to consolidate my debt, and I provided everything they asked for—answered all their questions, completed all forms accurately, and was told there were no issues. The only condition was that I pay off my CRA balance, and the loan would be approved. I paid off my CRA debt based on their assurance, only to have my application denied with no proper explanation. I came to inquire about a simple question as to why my card wasn’t working. I’ve been with CIBC for a while, and every time my husband or I come we’re not treated with proper respect by the old lady (Anna). She’s so grouchy and doesn’t treat customers with respect, which I’ve seen happen with my own eyes, and this is also clear in some of the reviews.
