I regret waiting 30 minutes at the CIBC Mapleview branch just to deposit a cheque, only to end up using the ATM in the end. The issue was that the cheque was under my single (maiden) name, which I used when I opened the account 14 years ago. Now that I’ve been married for 10 years and use my married name, the branch manager refused to honour the cheque. They didn’t even try to verify that I’m the same person. It was such a waste of my time.
I was contacted by this CIBC branch regarding a pre-approved offer, and was specifically asked to come in to discuss it. However, once I got there, I was told I was not actually eligible for the offer. Instead, they tried to push a completely unrelated product that I had zero interest in. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic — wasting my time under false pretenses just to upsell me on something else. Very unprofessional and misleading. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this branch.
Waiting in the line from 2 o’clock to 240 the teller was very friendly, but the rest of the staff walked by with their head down horrible service. You would think a Supervisor manager would free up the lineup, but I guess customer service is not what they’re going for.
Slowest service ever. Doesn’t matter what time of day, you’ll wait forever to deal with a teller. Never more than 2 tellers, ever, even when there are lineups and other staff hanging around talking to each other being oblivious to the line up.
Usually only 2 tellers working so the lineups are insane. The people working there are super nice though
