Nice spot. Staff was accommodating and friendly and that was put to the test as we visited with a sports team of almost 20 teenagers. Food was good, I had chicken parm and the chicken as well as the sauce was ever just slightly on the dry side for my taste, although I know some people like it that way. My only complaint, I thought the price on a pour of middle shelf bourbon (base Woodford Reserve) was excessive. It was a price I paid elsewhere for the likes of a Blanton's.
Our daughter is a student at UNH and we love dining with her whenever we get the chance at Ciao. The food and wines are amazing . Our service is always wonderful . We enjoy that the menu changes seasonally and is so fresh with a few staples that remain.. It’s a great spot in downtown Durham. We look forward to many more happy occasions dining at Ciao. Always a great experience and a great meal. Ambience is lovely, food is delicious and service is great. Eggplant parm and chicken parm are our favorites. Yum!
This was our first visit and we were impressed by the ambience of the restaurant. The service was good and we enjoyed our server, Meagan. The portions were large, actually more than we could eat. But we were disappointed in the entre, chicken piccata. We did expect it to be breaded. We have never had it breaded before did not enjoy the heaviness of the dish. We will go back, but try a different dish next time.
Went here for a murder mystery dinner which was awesome. Didn't get to experience the menu fully because ours was set. Parking is a bit more tricky- lots of 2 hour parking in Durham so if you can eat and get back to the car in that time you are golden. We hit a holiday weekend so parked right out front from free! We look forward to going back to experience the full restaurant.
