Excellent doctor. Dr. Chun injected my thumb with cortisone and it is finally feeling better. It was painful, swollen, and triggering for 3 months prior to the injection. Now, two weeks after the injection, it no longer hurts. The thumb still triggers a bit but I am optimistic it will heal up completely. The injection to numb the thumb was quite painful but then I did not feel the cortisone shot at all. I found Dr. Chun and all of his staff to be kind, friendly, and helpful as well as obviously very competent in their jobs. ... read more
Dr. Chun performed surgery on my left thumb several years ago. There is not a day goes by that I do not regret that surgery and my experience with Dr. Chun. The procedure required cutting the largest tendon in my left wrist and using it to replace a bone at the base of my thumb where he had removed the existing bone. He said I did not need that tendon. I have less that 50% strength in my left hand and wrist, and very little use with the thumb. Another surgeon in Santa Fe told me it was the wrong procedure, way too invasive. ... read more
I upgrade my review. The nerve study doctor that Dr. Chun gave me a referral to called me and I have an appointment. I am more optimistic we will figure out what's causing my hand contortions.
I had a trigger finger that required injections. Dr. Chun gave me my first one. He raised up the syringe and stabbed my finger. Instead of a normal shot type injection. (t was very painful) He is a good Doctor. Finger injection of cortisone are painful by themselves. I've had five injections since then. I will be returning for surgery. The other injections were done by others.
Thoughtful, careful and mindful of my pain. Good explanations. Would recommend to anybody with hand infection
Dr. Chun is great. I’m going on my third orthopedic surgeon and hands down he’s the best. He is attentive and communication is excellent. As far as procedures, he is fast and causes me so much less pain. But.... as for his office staff, it leaves something to be desired. They can be heard complaining about each other while patients are within earshot. My paperwork was lost, calls never returned and assigned to techs that aren’t there. The office definitely give you “ the blow off” .
Dr Chun evaluated my right elbow and helped a great deal with an injection. He also evaluated my right bicep tendon and said surgery is always an option, but suggested we wait until it became a bigger issue. I would highly recommend him.
Had Carpal Tunnel Release surgery performed by Dr. Chun approx. 5 years ago and am still amazed by my results, my recovery and almost no visible scar whatsoever.
Very professional and pleasant
