I would not recommend this doctor. My son had a blood spot in his eye, and after a brief 15-minute exam without using any equipment, she couldn’t provide a diagnosis but still charged me $235 out of pocket after insurance.
I had cataract surgery at U of I and had difficulties healing. U of I was such a long drive for weekly exams so I switched to an optometrist that was in my area. Dr. Mata was knowledgeable but seemed unconcerned with my growing frustration at the lack of healing. When I called their help line on the weekend because of pain and a broken blood vessel the doctor on call acted as if I was bothering him with my concerns.
