I initially had high hopes for Dr. Christine Carosella, especially since my husband had established care with her. Unfortunately, over the years, I’ve been repeatedly disappointed by her lack of responsiveness and overall disengagement. Communication is minimal—typically just a sentence or two through the portal—and medication approvals have been unnecessarily difficult. Over ten years ago, my mother was hospitalized at a hospital where Christine Carosella worked. My mother was hospitalized for COPD -- she had had stomach cancer, but it had been cured. She was very thin because with 2/3 of her stomach gone, she had trouble eating enough to keep her weight up. Christine Carosella examined my mother, saw "stomach cancer" in her history, noted that my mother seemed very thin, and asked her to sign a Do Not Resusitate order, apparently assuming that my mother was dying of cancer.
