About this business

I have type 1 diabetes and went into medicine to help others manage their chronic conditions. As a physician, I love building a team-based relationship with patients, and feel very strongly that patients who are educated about their endocrine condition and empowered in their medical decision-making will enjoy better physical, mental and emotional health.

Dr Mangrum isn’t a bad endocrinologist by any means, but if you have pituitary issues or a type of adrenal insufficiency aside from primary/Addisons, he will not be knowledgeable enough to treat you. On top of that, be aware that if you’re scheduled for an ACTH Stimulation test, they won’t send you to an infusion center or put an IV in to draw the 3 separate labs, they will have you go in and out of the office and poke you separately each time.

I saw Dr Mangrum for 2 years. 2 years of only testing TSH and upping dosage. NEVER did a full panel on thyroid hormones. Thanfully, I joined a thyroid support group and found out I was being treated with the bare minimum. Endocrinologists should NEVER treat you based on only TSH much less, just labs alone. Your symptoms should be the basis for treatment and testing. Luckily, I did reach out to another health care system. My T3 is consistent with someone who is dying! Dr Mangrum doesn't even physically feel your thyroid every... read more

I have been seeing Dr. Mangrum for approx. 3 years. I had previously seen 3 endos before Dr. Mangrum. It's very difficult to find an endo that's caring and competent and has knowledge of dealing with metatastic thyroid cancer. My last endo worked at a cancer center before opening a practice in oklahoma city, then relocated to Colorado. I found Dr. Mangrum by luck and research. I go to MD Anderson cancer center in Houston and Dr Mangrum has access to my records. He is very supportive and ALWAYS answers my questions that I for... read more
