Dr. Unterseher seems to be more interested in creating computer medical records than treating patients. As a new patient in 2023, it took 4 visits of endless interviews before he put a stethoscope on me! He is not well connected with specialist providers in Oregon, and therefore his referrals are no better than I could find on my own. He is not collaborative in my view. He made errors in my lab orders and prescription dosing, which I attributed to inattention. When the errors were pointed out, he blamed subordinates rather t... read more
Dr Unterseher has proven to be thorough, thoughtful in his diagnosis of the cause of my night sweats and corresponding shortness of breath. He has taken a systematic approach to finding the cause and it has been pretty well narrowed down to a single factor, that appears to be heart related! We can now move forward to mitigate the issue.
If I could leave a negative review, I definitely would!! We moved to the Kalamazoo area 6 yrs ago, and, have had 4 Dr's in that time!! Dr (and, I use that title loosely) Unterseher was our 3rd. The FIRST appt I had with him, he told me that even though I have had chronic pain (due to an old injury) I was screwed because he refused to renew my pain meds!! So, now I have yet another Dr specifically for my pain!! I kept Dr, U, but, only saw him 2 times, and, once, I had diagnosed myself b4 seeing him!! As has been the case, Dr ... read more
My spouse loved him and trusted him. He ordered an EKG because my spouse was having symptoms of aFib.He never called us to tell us he was in aFib. It took a month to get into his Cardio guy who said the results were in fact aFib when DrU ordered the test. That being said, I called the practice manager and complained to her and she agreed with me he was negligent. He ended up having 2 more procedures done and possible a 3rd coming up because this guy didn't care enough to follow up with me. I left him a note on my chart but n... read more
Dr Untersher has a good bedside manner but refuses to read any data or try to help his patients. At this point I feel that he is borderline negligent. He refuses to order simple tests to try to help me and discounts any studies that I send him. Untersher is probably a good doctor for people with a common cold but anyone who needs help should look elsewhere.
Good experience each time I’ve seen him. He listens and will change meds if they’re not doing much. Got my blood pressure down and my migraines are more manageable.
He always seems preoccupied and in a hurry. I think he should take more time with patients and not be so worried about pushing patients through so fast.
I saw Dr. Unterseher over the course of three years. He neglected to read the results of multiple bloodwork panels which indicated that I had Chronic Kidney Disease. He failed to recognize my chronic cough as being a side effect of my blood pressure medication, instead he prescribed an array of allergy medications (this cough persisted for two years). It took a Nurse Practioner from the same practice to recognize the correlation.
Very kind and knows what he's doing.
