I had a problem with the IRS due to accidently using W-2, rather than a 1099R. I received notices from the IRS stating that I failed to claim income. I examined my return and found that the correct amount was reported, just wrong form. I mailed my response to the tax court in DC, but they sent my case to the tax court in Miami. The case was settled as the IRS attorney saw the mistake and filed the documents.
