We stopped at Chow Hound while passing through Green River and looking for a quick lunch on our way north, and we’re so glad we did. This small family-owned restaurant has a great old-school burger joint vibe and friendly service. The burgers were excellent, with fresh-made patties that were juicy and full of flavor. The taxi salad was good enough but tiny. One taco shell with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and black olives. The service was horribly slow. The girl started taking our order then left to get someone else's order. So a guy finishes taking our order. We ordered a milkshake and "blizzard" for after the meal and we're told we'd have to come back and remind them. We did and it took about 15 minutes to get 2 ice cream "blizzards" Oh well, better than getting a sharp stick on the eye.
This place is AMAZING! I ordered the green chile Burger with onion rings and it was absolutely delicious. We also split a BBQ chicken pizzas that was one of the best I've ever had. The employees were friendly and the atmosphere has that small town feel that took me back to being a kid. If you're in Green River you should definitely stop here.
The place looks fun, the people were nice. But the food! I have been reading reviews, and I am thinking perhaps we just ordered the two most ridiculously overpriced items, one of which was, no exaggeration, ghastly. I ordered nachos with meat for almost $10. My son ordered taco salad for the same price. When the food was ready, we were handed two small hamburger boxes.
