I went in to buy some beef cheeks, and I happily bought some - but this review is spurred by the impulse-buy pepperoni at the cash register. Indescribably delicious, so many balanced and subtle flavors, clean yet complex. The pork carried a natural sweetness, matched by just the right amount of spice. Quite possibly the best bit of sausage I’ve ever eaten. Well worth the price. Hot take, get mad if you want: good meat should cost good money. If you disagree, you can buy cheaper meat and/or eat less meat.
If I could give The Chop Shop more than 5 stars, I would. I originally started shopping here bc I wanted to stop buying meat from massive corporations, support local businesses, & actually understand what I was putting into my body instead of eating chicken every day. I’m visiting from Florida and I’m going to have guests over for dinner. I decided to have steak and saw the website and called a day ahead and told them what I would and asked if they could provide it. They said yes and I drove a 1/2 hour to purchase their product , only to find out they were only offering what was in the meat case. I wanted 2 1 and 1/2 pound bone in ribeyes but ended up spending $160 for 2 huge steaks that were very tough. Best cold smoked pork chops of my life Honestly best anything of my life. Rob is the most considerate person when it comes to meeting your needs and helping to narrow down choices when it comes to things like seafood or even a charcuterie board The only downside is I’ll never be able to eat a pork chop from anywhere else again haha
