I'm 47, and due to my age and no MRI status, I rendered other ortho doctors incapable of doing their job. I had a THR and my hip pain is GONE. No more exploding hip. I was referred to him by another doctor and I can't say enough how uncaring he was. He told me that I have a little arthritis in my knee as he reviewed an x-ray. I have suffered with my knee now for over 1 full year since I saw him. I went to my primary care physician and he ordered me a an MRI that was completed last week. Dr. Chonko did my knee replacement one month ago and I can’t say enough good things. He is professional and knowledgeable and I contribute how well I have done to his expertise. I won’t go to anyone else for my other one??
EXCELLENT Surgeon! He replaced my second hip and I wish he had done the first hip.
Dr. Chonko has done revisions on both of my hips and on one of my knees. He took an extraordinary amount of time reviewing my chart, he looked through all of my records which was the size of a bible, and spent a long time explaining the problems. He planned out the surgeries with me and answered all of my questions. My family was very impressed, he rounded every day and made sure that the family was present to answer questions. He called my home after every surgery and was very thorough with my recovery.
I had my hip replacement surgery done by him, but a few months later, he left his practice and didn't even tell anyone. Everything seemed to be okay, then after a year, hip started hurting again, really bad. Found out after 5 months of excruciating pain, I have a massive tear of the minimus and major tear of the medius. I don't know if it's related. Dr Chonko has been my doctor for some time now and he has been a very good doctor. He has done surgery on me a couple times and I have had nothing but good experience with him. Highly recommend him.
Doctor Chonko is wonderful. He did my surgery a few years ago. Before going to him, many doctors did not want to help me. Some doctors even said that I was lying. Dr Chonko was able to diagnose my problem immediately and operate within that month or so. The surgery was successful and I am feeling great! Wonderful doctor overall!!!
