Exceptional Holiday Decorations – I love the service it is like going to your neighborhood pub. They know me by name because I am a monthly regular.They will give a sample if you ask for it of the fudge the owner makes himself. I especially love the holiday decorations. I'm in my 40s and love to visit during these times to check out this years window display all by myself. I generally don't carry cash so I have no problem using my debit card to pay for my usual two pieces of chocolate candy.
Great Chocolate But illegal Practices – The Treats in the shop are amazing, I would personally recommend the Hawaii Sea Salt. However the total price came to $5.90 and the owner said that a $10 minimum purchase was required for my visa card transaction, this is illegal in any store and should be reported to visa and bbb.
My favorite chocolate shop, very- European – I'm a regular here (about every 2 weeks) and love the top quality chocolate available, Leonidas and Neuhaus are my favorites. I lived in Europe before and am so happy to find something comparable. I don't really like the sweeter waxy-tasting chocolate you can get at the other well-known dessert places. BEWARE OF UNETHICAL OWNER!! – No wonder this place is always empty! I went to Chocolat Du Monde today to buy five small gifts. I explained to the owner that I'd like to spend $15-$20 on each gift. He showed me a box the size of a ring box and told me that's what $20 would buy. I explained to him that I had looked at the prices on the website and found nice combinations that could be arranged for this price (the prices are not posted anywhere in the store, but they are on the website). Incredible selection of Belgium chocolates – Yesterday, after a busy morning of garden-hopping in the University area, three friends and I dropped by this chocolate shop for our reward. Wow, what a variety of beautiful treats. It's a selection that I would guess puts Godiva somewhere comfortably "down" the list for fine chocolate. Irresistable concoctions and the friendly service behind the counter will have me back soon.
Rude=Sorry, Not so. My favorite treasure. – I live in the area and I have been going to this store since they opened and by funny coincidence happened to be in that store a year ago when a large group went in and started eating chocolate and not buying anything. They were extremely rude and loud and not wanting to pay for what they ate. It's too bad people misuse services like this. I guess that's what reviews are about. One womans treasure......
Best Chocolate in Houston – Chocolat du Monde has some of the best chocolate I have found anywhere. The customer service is excellent and very friendly. The employee went out of his way to assist me with the gifts I was purchasing. I will definitely return for more!
Rude and patronizing service – Great chocolate, but terrible customer service! A group of us went to Chocolate Du Monde to spend a huge amount of money as we love Belgium chocolate. A friend and I thought the small silver buckets on the counter inf front of us where samples, as there were no prices on them, come to think of it there were no prices on anything.
