I’m not normally a thrifter, but I’ve been on the hunt for some shelves, cabinets, or just unique furniture for my home. When I walked into CHKD Thrift Store, the first thing I noticed was a set of three kitchen chairs. While chairs weren’t on my list, I had been needing some, and these were perfect! At just $5 a chair, I couldn’t pass them up. One chair had a flaw that could be fixed with glue, and the staff member was so kind she marked it down to only $3 without me even asking. I have been coming to this Thrift Store for a few months. The store is nice & clean & the employees are the best! They are very helpful & go out of their way to answer any questions, ect. What a nice shopping experience every time I visit. Thanks to all
As I was planning on leaving a poor review about the same cashier others have (over fifty or sixty white lady, dark hair with glasses about 5ft 3in, who has absolutely zero customer service skills or abilities), I read all these other recent reviews about the employees at this location. To the corporate office who reads these reviews and should be well aware that you have a serious issue with your customer service at this location, how about sending in a quality control trainer to bring these employees up to standard! Great deals on books. But please, PLEASE stop using a grease pen on the cover to price them. It doesn't come off of textured covers and leaves indents on others. People will gladly pay a set price for undamaged media. You could easily charge $1 a book instead of $0.79 books with writing on the cover. I sadly had to pass on quite a few titles because I knew the writing wasn't coming out of the highly-textured cover. Otherwise, I love it here and will return when I am in the area. Started pricing things ridiculously high about a year or two ago and it’s gotten really outrageous. You can find better, new stuff at cheaper prices at Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. Sad to see a thrift store price and handle business like that. The shelves are jam packed because no one is paying those ridiculous prices. Anything I considered buying I out right back on the shelf when I saw the price. Someone needs to check behind whoever’s responsible for pricing. No doubt it will lead to them going out of business soon.
