In 2018, I spent 6 weeks at Chisholm Ross, when I experienced psychosis. It was the best thing for me and I met some wonderful people. I initiated activities and created fun for other patients. When I left, I wanted to pursue employment there, because I could see first hand the potential. Talking, socialising and fun activities can dramatically improve mental health.
Not all of them, but there's plenty of staff working there, that clearly don't want to be there. Their the ones that have zero desire whatsoever to help or care for any patient that's in there. I understand it would be a very challenging job, but if you don't want to be there, don't be. Cause they end up being incredibly short fused, incredibly rude & then they wonder why nobody listens or has much respect for them. Ok so I’m 14 I was locked in a room for 3-4 weeks straight with no help just getting told that I was wasting time even though I was there involuntary and was there for an unnecessary amount of time I had a lot of comments on my body even though I was actively struggling with an eating disorder. I could hear so many other patients get neglected and i honestly hope that this place can get shut down because NO ONE deserves to go through that traumatising and insanely neglectful place
