I’m in Charlottesville for a month and I’m so glad I’ve found this place. The dishes are very authentic, they classic comfort foods like Isan (Lao Style) papaya, Isan cucumber salad, sausages/ sticky rice, and fried crispy pork belly.
The food was really good but sadly it lacked flavor. I loved the taste and quality of the food but it was fairly bland, especially for Thai food. Great service and good food but definitely lacking some spices/flavors that I would have gotten in the same dish at a different restaurant.
Chimm is hands down one of the restaurants I miss most from our time in Virginia. My husband and I found it while shopping nearby, and after seeing that they offered gluten-free options, we decided to give it a try. The gluten-free fried rice and pho are absolutely phenomenal. Every visit started the same way: an order of their spicy gluten-free edamames with extra chili oil from the table poured on top. Chef’s kiss!!
