Told me my child would start on Wednesday I haven't heard from my case worker since they won't let me speak with a supervisor or keep hanging up I'm on the verge of loosing my job and apartment because I need child care and I've been on this waiting list for 2 years 😕

Child Care Group presents itself as a support system for working parents, but my experience has been the opposite. I first applied when my child was an infant so I could return to work. After waiting nearly one full year, I was finally contacted, only to be given two weeks to select a provider. Unfortunately the system is not set up for single mothers or any one without a village. I alerted them when my son was born I was no longer working because I just gave birth, and have no one to watch him. I can’t afford to pay for my older child’s care so how could I afford a newborn’s? 7 months go by I get a call alerting my son is up on the sibling waitlist. Irma was amazing and helped me so much. I am a first time mother trying to figure out what I am doing when it comes down to federal help but Irma guided me and reassured me :)
