First, I am not one to write reviews but with not resolving my issue I feel compelled to. I ordered 125 Pine tree seedlings from Chief River Nursery this Spring 2023. They did a great job of packing and sending them. The young trees had a good root system and everything looked good. I planted them within 2 days of delivery. Had one of the worst un professional customer service responses ever. Mid May, didn't get my order. I emailed, they said it was coming in 2-4 weeks. Never heard back, 1st week in June, they then said they forgot about or lost my order. I asked for some type of extra trees and or something to compensate for them having my money for 6 months, the mistake they made, still no trees and response... no we will send your money back in 2 weeks or so. I have been ordering trees for several years and always the trees are great with large/strong root structure.
I am a return /repeat customer. High quslity seedlings. Best hazelnut and butternut seedlings around. Really like the package deals like Nut and Berry package. I plant in zone 3b in northern wisconsin and need hardiness
Ordered European Larch seedlings from them for Bonsai use, and I told them what they were for. Finally got them and they are a poor excuse for Bonsai trees or for any other use IMO. Lousy root and branch structure, long ones bent over and broken for shipping, and several don't even look alive. Don't waste your money with this place
A friend had told me about this place so this spring, I ordered and received a mix of different trees from Chief River Nursery. I was pretty impressed by the packaging job and the trees looked very fresh coming out of the box. Most of the seedlings survived and are doing well. I would order seedlings from Chief River Nursery again in the future.
