***DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!!! *** I came here with my beautiful and energetic 8 year old dog. The admitting vet said: wow you wouldn't even know she's sick. Within days of allowing Dr. Seth Ghantous to 'treat' her, however, my magnificent girl was dead. Dr.Ghantous's 'treatment' caused my beautiful dog to hemmorhage and die. She had NO history of health problems. Dr. Seth Ghantous had no treatment plan and allowed my dog to hemorrhage for 3 full days before he took any action whatsoever. By then it was too late. She was ... read more
They care and they're understanding – These people are caring and understanding. As much as I didn't want to be there, the staff and dr's made the visit as tolerable as possible. I don't know what people expect....that your vet fall apart like you do when your pet is sick. It's their job to keep a calm rational head. Some of these reviews are just plain stupid and impossible. I had to bring in my sick cat on a Friday night. It was possibly the worst 3.5 hours of my life. These people at the Vet emergency did whatever they co... read more
caring vets – I have bought my dogs into Chicago Emergency Vets in the past. they have a good staff and are caring and helpful even over the phone. Any emergency vet is going to be pricey, I have been to 3 different emergency vets in the city and suburbs over the years, these are vet specialists and emergency vets have to make life and death decisions, you get what you pay for. If you have an older pet get pet insurance, you will need it eventually, and its easier to spend 35-60 a month than a lot more at one shot. If you ha... read more
They saved my best friends life! – My cat is a playful, loving, purring, genorous little guy. Last weekend I noticed him sleeping in a weird place in the closet totally lethargic and unable to move. It freaked me out, since it was 11 pm on a Sat. night , and I didnt know what to do. My intuition told me that he was very sick. When I tried to move him, he cried out in pain. I quickly went to the computer and started doing research. We ended up taking him there around 1 am. He had a blocked urethra and his bladder was and he c... read more
This is probably the WORST veterinary staff I have ever encountered. – Not only did the veterinary staff refuse to indicate the pricing over the phone, they indicated that they could choose to hold the animal if I were to bring my animal for examination and if I refused to allow the animal to be treated (at my expense) it could constitute animal cruelty and I would be reported to authorities. Talk about having someone over a barrel. These people are vicious. Avoid at ALL costs. They appear to be far more concerned about gett... read more
Not the best 24 hour vet hospital to go to. – I wouldn't recommend this place it's not the best at its quality in service. Although, the DVM are knowledgable in what they are doing, overall staff is poor. Unfortunately, this is the only pet hospital open after hours and on weekends in the city. If you could wait to take your pet to it's normal vet then it's worth your time and money.
Rude and Cold! – The staff is so RUDE and unwelcoming. Customer service could not be worse. I know it's the only place to go afterhours in the city, but someone should open up another one. It is simply ridiculous how rude they were to me when I took my pet there. Never again. Thank goodness my daytime vet is the best!
In a time of need, there is no better – As a lifelong pet owner in Chicago, I am pretty familiar with this hospital. Emergencies never happen during regular hours, and its during emergencies that you begin to appreciate expert service and a state of the art facility. The staff at Chicago Veterinary Emergency are unique in that they probably see the worst of emergency cases, but they are never cold. In fact, they are quite the opposite. Diagnosis and treatment are amazingly fast and accurate as they have their own lab service... read more
