I had a legal name change in 2018 after purchasing title insurance policy with Chicago Title Insurance Co. in 2015. As advised by my real estate attorney, I recorded the new deed under my new legal name with the county Register of Deeds recently. And I spoke to a staff in Chicago Title Insurance Charlotte office on July 12, 10:43 AM and she told me that they just need to endorse the old policy with the new deed and legal name change document and it's free of charge.
