Dr. Anokwute, his clinic staff, delivery nurses, and care team are all incredible people and you can tell that they love and enjoy their jobs. I switched from a Springfield, MO doctor to Dr. Anokwute with some hesitation since I knew the hospital in Aurora was small compared to Cox, as well as the hospital in Arkansas I have previous delivered at. Told me to go on a keto diet while pregnant, put me on baby aspirin really early; which causes me to bleed. Then told me that my bleeding (a sub chronic hematoma) was just my mucus plug. Then raised his voice at my mother and friend for talking to loudly, which they were not— he said he had to “bring them back down to earth”. Overall I would not say he is a bad doctor, he is just not very understanding, patient or personable. He just isn’t the doctor for me, especially as someone who deals with agoraphobia, and ptsd.
