A lot of time was spent standing still while the driver read tons of dates/names/places aloud from a sheet of paper. Hard to see out of the trolley to places the driver was talking about. Icing on the cake: No air conditioning on a 88 degree day with a packed tour. Using Groupon cut cost by 40% so that made it somewhat less awful.
It was an okay tour but our guide seemed a little disinterested. She read from a paper the whole time, skipped over certain parts, and actually said "blah blah blah" at one point. It was also really hot in the trolley and the guide didn't ask if we wanted the air on until near the end. It would be better if they split the downtown stops into before and after the Frontier Days stop. As it is you're sitting in the same couple of blocks for the first 45 minutes of the tour and I started to feel like it should have been a walkin... read more
Thoroughly enjoyable and informative tour of Cheyenne. Our tour guide, Sue, was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and genuinely concerned over everyone’s comfort and ensuring we have a great experience. The most telling impact of the trip came later that evening from the school report our ten-year-old granddaughter shared with us that detailed every highlight of the tour, proving our group of all ages had a rewarding, memorable visit. Highly recommended.
I have never been to Cheyenne so it was great to hear about the local history. There were many great stories that everyone would find interesting and a few that seemed to be stretching the truth a little. The conductor was very articulate, informed and interesting. On the down side... the wooden planks were a bit painful to sit on, but cushions are available. The temperature outside was only about 75, but inside the trolley was a bit warm even though the aircondioning and fans were turned on. If you have never been to Cheyen... read more
On our drive home to California, we made a brief stop in Cheyenne. We spotted the trolley waiting for passengers and decided to join the tour for $20 per person purchased online on the spot. Our tour guide, Darrell, was knowledgeable about Cheyenne’s history and landmarks. We drove through downtown, to the capitol, to the fairgrounds, and more. The 90-120 minute tour was definitely worth it, and Darrell’s town stories, coupled with his sheriff outfit, made the experience even more enjoyable.
