Nellie prescribed Meloxicam for a backache and the prescription goes for 1 year. After taking this for 6 months my husband had emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer caused by this medication. It is recommended to not take this for more than 2 weeks. Does she not know about the medications she prescribes? This is a dangerous drug and there should have been a followup appointment after 2 weeks at the very least We were fortunate that my husband survived the operation. It could have been fatal.
